Send JDX a new client. Get a thank-you.
Introduce a business to JDX, and when their new website is paid in full, JDX sends you a referral thank-you: $100 to $300 for our website packages, and up to $1,000 for larger builds.
Payouts
| Referred client buys | You get |
|---|---|
| Starter site | $100 |
| Growth site | $200 |
| Growth Plus | $300 |
| Online store or custom build | Confirmed in writing when the project is signed: between $300 and $1,000 |
The thank-you covers the listed website builds only. It is not paid on hosting, Website Care, a Refresh, an audit, or any other service. A Starter site bought during a sale still earns the full $100.
How to refer someone
They name you when they reach out
The contact form, the Start a project form, the three-question quiz on the home page, and the Starter site checkout all have a "Who referred you?" field. They type your name there.
You introduce them to the JDX team
Send one email to the JDX team with the business owner copied, and say who they are and what they need.

Either way, you have to be named before the client pays a deposit or signs a contract.
Rules
Anyone can refer, except JDX and the client themselves.
New clients only. If JDX was already talking with the client, or they are a past or current client, it is not a referral.
You must be named before the client pays a deposit or signs a contract, either in the "Who referred you?" field or by introducing the client to the JDX team by email. If two people name the same client, the first one named is paid.
There is no limit on how many businesses you can refer. Each referred client counts once.
Commercial work only. There are no referral payouts on federal, state, or other government contracts, and none to federal employees. Federal contracts generally carry a covenant against contingent fees, and federal ethics rules generally bar employees from taking payment from a vendor. This is general information, not legal advice.
JDX can change or end the program at any time. Referrals named before a change are paid under the terms in effect when they were named.
You are paid within 14 days of the client paying for their build in full. For an online store or custom build, that means the first signed contract is paid in full. If the client cancels or does not finish paying, there is no payout.
How payouts are made
- How you are paid
- By ACH bank transfer, within 14 days of the client paying for their build in full.
- Your W-9
- Before your first payout, the JDX team sends you a private Dropbox upload link. Fill in the IRS fillable W-9 and upload it there. You do not need a Dropbox account, and you cannot see anyone else's files. Please do not email it.
- How it is kept
- Your W-9 stays only in that private folder. It is never sent by email or stored anywhere else, and it is deleted 4 years after your last payout.
- If you are a JDX client
- You can take the thank-you as a credit on your next invoice instead, dollar for dollar.
- Taxes
- JDX sends a Form 1099-NEC only if it pays you $2,000 or more in a calendar year (the IRS threshold for payments made in 2026 and later), so most referrers never get one.
FAQ
When am I paid?
Within 14 days of the client paying for their build in full. For a Starter site, that is after the client pays the balance, when their site is ready. For an online store or custom build, it is when the first signed contract is paid in full.
Can I refer more than one business?
Yes. There is no limit, and each new client you refer earns its own thank-you.
What counts as a new client?
A business that has never worked with JDX and was not already talking with the JDX team before you named them. If they reached out to JDX last month on their own, they are not a referral.
Do I need to sign up?
No. There are no links, codes, or accounts. The client names you, or you introduce them by email, and the JDX team takes it from there.
Does the client get a discount?
No. The client pays the same price as anyone else, including any public sale that is running. The thank-you goes to you.
How much is the thank-you for an online store or custom build?
Those projects vary in size, so the thank-you does too: between $300 and $1,000. The JDX team confirms your amount in writing when the client signs.
Know a business that needs a website?
Ask them to name you when they reach out, or email the JDX team to introduce them.
