The term constipate refers to a condition where a person has to take a specific medication, usually an antibiotic, to keep their blood sugar from dropping below a certain level.
It’s a rare condition, but when it happens it can cause a serious health problem.
Constipate can be a problem if you’re allergic to certain antibiotics or medications or if you’ve recently been prescribed an antibiotic.
If you have an allergic reaction to any of these, you may need to be hospitalized.
