There are two types of licence: a General License for people aged 16 years and over and a Limited License for younger people.
You need both types of licences to use ironmaking equipment, but only one type of licence can be used on a site at one time.
You must also have your licence and its terms and conditions in writing.
You will need to provide a photo ID for your photograph.
If you are under 16 years of age, you will need a parent or guardian to sign the application form for you.
Your licence is valid for three years, and you must also pay a $500 application fee.
The licence is renewable each time you apply for a new licence.
You can only use ironworks on a property owned by the government of New South Wales.
You will need permission from the local council to access the ironworks site, but you can use any equipment that is in the property.
